Child Sex Abuse and How to Protect Those Around You

This is a topic which many are concerned about and today, we will see how we can tackle this disgusting act.

Child sex abuse occurs when a child is sexually harassed by an adult to satisfy his/her sexual desires. This involves sleeping with the child, toying with a child's sexual organs and other obscene things.
It is also important to note that once a child experiences sexual abuse, the child has both physically and emotional pain. This is because the sex offender didn't have the child's best interest at heart.

NOTE:
Child sex abuse mainly happens to girls but it also happens to boys. While men are mostly the culprits, women can also do this.
As mentioned earlier, the child involved experiences different kinds of pain and harbors feelings of something being stolen from him/her because in a sense, the assaulter has stolen somethings from that child- protection and trust. Therefore, the child would have a hard time trusting others especially adults.
Also, child sex abuse is a crime in the eye of the law. Governments reserve harsh punishments for these offenders and in some cases, might even result in a death sentence. So mlet's see how we can protect our loved ones(children, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors, etc, from these menace.
These are some ways we can do so:

  • Never leave your child alone with an adult without some form of surveillance: This is very important because most of these people who abuse children sexually are ones close to us that we might even begin to see the as family. But don't be too free leaving your child with these ones because your child will not be suspecting that these 'uncles and aunts' can abuse them and leave massive scars in the lives.
  • Be enlightened concerning child sex abuse: Get to know what kind of lures and tricks these sex offenders use to deceive the child. Also, be very vigilant of those around you. The person your child knows and trust could be capable of doing this.
