How to Make Cool T-Shirt Designs | How to Make T-shirt Designs that Sells

 I am sure everyone likes to wear cool t-shirts right? But how many of us can design DIY shirts on our own? Certainly not everyone and that is normal. After all, if everyone could design t-shirts, who would pay to do it?

 Well, today I want to share something with you all. Designing t-shirts isn't as hard as it seems. Actually it can be fun!. I am going to share some tips on how to design shirts on your own. So, let's get started!

 To start with, we need a mockup of a shirt (i.e a 3D rendering of a shirt design) or you could create one from scratch. Vector and PSD shirt mockup formats are available for download. Once we are through with that, we are ready to make great designs. Next, open the application you prefer to edit graphics. I usually go with Adobe Photoshop (it can be CC or CS6 or older depending on your choice).

 I always say that you can be creative in your own way. 

Make something that you know would wow people when they see your work. And always have a design in your head or in your sketchpad before designing (you do not want to be at crossroads with your designs).



 Now, choose your colors carefully. 

You do not want to conflict your design colors to and make them chaotic and messy. 

Also, choose the objects and shapes in your designs well organized. For example, if designing try putting an object like a leaf or palm or flowers and duplicate it. After doing that, flip the design horizontally or vertically and maybe even give it a new color if it doesn't fit your scene.

Texts in a design can in a sense make design speak about itself without any interpretation. 

When you have typed the text into the design, you can add effects like shadows, pattern and color overlays, extrusion, bevel and emboss and many more. 

The key is to make your text stand out.

With these tips, you can create a custom shirt design on your own.
