Okada riders in Lagos |
This is a very popular topic since the first of February 2020.
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu decided that the motorcycles and tricycles in Lagos State constitutes nuisance and probably doesn't fit with the city's plan on becoming a megacity.
But unfortunately, this hasn't gone down well with many in the state who feel that this decision is careless and rash.
Many suggest that the decision of stopping Okadas and Keke Marwa isn't the best of decisions the Lagos State Government has made.
Also, Lagosians feel that the Government of Lagos doesn't have the general public's best interest at heart.
This is because in Lagos especially, these are fast and affordable means of transportation.
This is also a huge source of income for motorcycle and tricycle riders in the state and this is so evident that major motorcycle companies have brought their businesses to Lagos and were doing very well.
Examples of these are Gokada, ORide, Max, etc.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu |
It is even more surprising to hear what the Governor had to say about this. This is what he had to say:
"I have been offline since, but I want to address Lagosians on the #OkadaBan issue. You are all aware that Access Bank marathon holds on the 8/02/2020 which is next week Saturday. So use the trekking as training, don't you want to win 50,000$?"
Can you imagine this?
But he has a point😂

Keke Napep or Marwa |
Lagosians should exercise and when a person faints on the track and there is no vehicle to convey the person to a hospital or medical center, he/she should just lose all hope, right?🤔
The Government of Lagos State have banned bikes and tricycles before and later overruled their decision.
Let's hope and pray🙏 that this will be the same as previous occasions.
'Til we see again, in the meanwhile, 'Happy Trekking' and stay fit!😂😂😂
