2020
A year that will be etched in the minds of many for decades to come. 2020 might even become a moonlight tale in many households with adults relating their exploits to kids who will be bewildered by what they hear.
2020 has been a very historic year. Starting with a smooth cruise in a ship named the Diamond Princess, those passengers didn't know they were in for a ride of their lives and this ride was not going to be a cruise at all.
Afterwards, reports started flying around that a strange virus called the Coronavirus also called COVID19 virus was manifested in some of the passengers on the cruise ship.
And then it continued, spreading to almost every country on earth, thus limiting travel as well as damaging economies. Some nations were severely hit and those that didn't have the highest mortality rates were left with damaged economies.
Down to this very day (at the time of writing this article), we all still feel the effect of this virus.
Airlines have reduced flights to aid in controlling the risk of passengers contracting the virus.
Therefore, many have been at home, with lockdown in effect in most nations in the world and spending time at home for most people who aren't used to being at home has been difficult.
But 2020 also has a good side to it even though it has a very small percentage. Many have discovered skills and talents in them they wouldn't have noticed until now.
Families have also been closer as a result of everyone staying in the house together.
This has helped to mend broken relationships and marriages and help ignite flames in relationships that have grown cold.
Also, many have been able to cut their losses but putting their businesses on the web by starting some online businesses and also trying out new things.
Such things include:
Affiliate marketing
Freelancing on platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, PeoplePerHour, etc
Learning new skills from platforms like Skillshare, Udemy, Coursera, etc
Documenting their hobbies e.g like starting a YouTube channel
I personally have started two YouTube channels which are Adobe Draw with Golden (an art channel) and Top10Kings (a Top 10 channel).
Many might say I am wasting my time doing things like these but I think otherwise. We all need to be busy and what better way to keep busy than learning a new skill and sharing your knowledge with others.
5 months before now, I didn't know how to edit a video or even how to draw on my phone but I put the effort and time and learnt them and with practice, I get better everyday and also I am able to share what I love doing with people that love what I do!
It's a win-win situation.
2020 has been a hectic year but with less than a month to go (by the time of writing this article) you can still make a difference both in your life and also in the lives of others around you or even on the other side of the globe!
So what are you waiting for? Step up and make the right choices and prove to yourself that 2020 isn't a waste of time and that you can turn things around to make both yourself and those around you SMILE😀.

Look for the bright side of every situation because there is always a clear sky after a stormy night.
Why not learn a skill today? Do so through YouTube, Skillshare, Udemy, etc.
If you want some extra cash, try out freelancing and I promise you that if you put the effort and have the skills, you WON'T regret your choice.
